What is a Green Visa in the UAE?

  • A contract of employment is provided by the employer to the employee
  • To apply for UAE Green Visa as a skilled employee it is necessary to have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Employees should have a minimum salary of AED 15,000

2. UAE Green Visa for self-employed and freelancers

UAE Green Visa is also available to self-employed as well as freelancing individuals. There are certain minimum requirements to possess this visa as a freelancer or self-employed individual:

  • It is necessary to obtain a freelance or a self-employed permit from MoHRE (Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation).
  • A bachelor’s or an equivalent degree is required
  • The two-year annual income of that individual should not be less than AED 3,60,000 for two years
  • Moreover, it’s necessary to provide solvency proof to stay in the country

3. UAE Green Visa for Investor or Partner

UAE also provides Green Visa to investors who are willing to invest in UAE. Earlier, investors were provided with a visa for 2 years which has now been extended to 5 years.
There are certain minimum requirements to be fulfilled to get it as an investor or a partner:

  • The total capital available for investment will be calculated
  • Approval from local authorities is mandatory to avail of this visa
  • Investment approval along with the proof of that investment

What are the benefits of a Green Visa for family members?

This visa is available for freelancers, self-employed individuals, skilled individuals, investors and partners. The major benefit of this visa is that those individuals who get this visa can get residence permits for their male children up to 25 years of age while there is no age limit for unmarried daughters.

Green visa holders of the UAE can also bring their first-degree relatives. In all the cases the visa is valid for relatives or family members till the visa of an individual is valid. This is a great advantage for individuals who are planning to move to the UAE with their families.
