Good Employee Experience Story [April 13 – 18]

The world needs more good news! That’s why we’ve decided to gather some good Human Resources (HR) and Employee Experience (EX) stories every week (at least till Covid-19 lasts) to inspire you and make you feel hopeful about the future.

  1. Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. will not effect any layoffs due to coronavirus lockdowns. Tata group company, which has about 4.5 lakh employees worldwide, also said it will not rescind job offers to 40,000 new hires and get all of them onboard. (Source: Bloomberg | Quint) 
  2. Google, Cisco, Capgemini, TCS, Accenture, Wipro, Cognizant, Hindustan Unilever (HUL), Godrej, PepsiCo, Biocon, Boston Consulting Group (BCG), McKinsey, and Bain & Company, and banking firms such as Kotak Mahindra, ICICI Bank, Citi and Axis Bank are some of the companies that have assured that they will be fulfilling their promises made to the new joiners.   3. JP Morgan to prevent any new layoffs. JP Morgan has 34,000 employees in India, its largest workforce outside the US. SAP said it is committed to not making significant layoffs for 90 days. SAP India is estimated to have around 13,000 employees in India. Morgan Stanley CEO James Gorman was quoted in the US media as saying that employees’ jobs would be safe this year. It has 3,300 technologists in India. (Source: Times of India)
  4. L&T has pledged to support about 160,000 contract workers by continuing to pay their wages and providing them with food and basic amenities. (Source: Business Today)
  5. 200,000 job openings posted in the last four weeks — and 80,000 of them are entry level positions (Source: Business Insider) 
  6. TCS and Wipro are reportedly hiring 30000 and 12000 employees this financial year. Cognizant is also keeping up with its word of hiring 20,000 freshers in this fiscal year. Moreover, Capgemini has also opened up recruitment for more than 4000 lateral hires in the second quarter of this year and will onboard all of them. (Source: Trak.in)
