Bajaj Auto sells over 1.34 lakh units in India in April Bajaj Auto on Monday said it sold 1,34,471 units of two-wheelers and commercial vehicles in the domestic market in April. The company did not sell any two-wheelers or commercial vehicles in the domestic market in April 2020. Bajaj Auto’s total vehicles sold stood at 3,88,016 units in April as against 37,878 units sold in April last year, the company said in a BSE filing.

Yes Bank turns focus to lending after winning back depositors Yes Bank Ltd., once at the centre of India’s biggest financial bailout, will turn its focus on boosting lending to businesses this year after succeeding in winning back depositors, Chief Executive Officer Prashant Kumar said. Regaining depositors and raising capital was the first order of business for Kumar, who took over the reins of Yes Bank in March 2020 after regulators seized the lender to prevent its imminent collapse. A year later its deposits have grown nearly 55% as opposed to losing 40% of the total prior to the bailout.

India and EU to seal connectivity agreement, revive negotiations on trade India and European Union are all set to seal a connectivity agreement at the May 8 virtual summit in Lisbon apart from reviving the negotiations on the stalled trade and investment agreement. Although many experts have questioned that the EU Indo-Pacific policy only names India once, EU diplomats in their briefing have made it clear India is central to their policy along with US and Japan.

GST revenue hits all-time high of Rs 1.41 lakh cr in April GST collections in April touched a record high of over Rs 1.41 lakh crore, indicating sustained economic recovery, the Finance Ministry said on Saturday. The revenues for the month of April 2021 are 14 per cent higher than Rs 1.23 lakh crore collected in March. The gross GST revenue collected in the month of April 2021 is at a record high of Rs 1,41,384 crore, of which CGST is Rs 27,837 crore, SGST Rs 35,621 crore, IGST Rs 68,481 crore and cess Rs 9,445 crore.
