India’s top IT majors – TCS, Infosys, Wipro together had over 8.78 lakh employees on their rolls for the quarter ended September. While TCS had 97% of employees working from home, it was 99% for Infosys and 98% for Wipro.

Salesforce acquires Slack for over $27 billion, marking cloud software vendor’s largest deal ever
Before Slack, Salesforce’s biggest deals were the $15.3 billion purchase of Tableau last year and the $6.5 billion acquisition of MuleSoft in 2018. The deal pits Salesforce against Microsoft in yet another market, with the companies already going head-to-head in sales software, data visualization, and productivity tools.

Google Maps Getting ‘Ride Services’ Menu Entry
Google Maps’ latest beta version introduces a new menu entry called ‘Ride Services’ in the settings of the app which will assist the user in getting standard and accurate fares by sending the route data from Google Maps to the ride-sharing company. Air India to raise another Rs 1,000 crore
Debt-laden Air India Ltd is set to raise about Rs 1,000 crore this week to complete total fundraising of about Rs 6,150 crore in short-term loans from local lenders. The fresh debt will be used to refinance comparatively pricier foreign currency bridge loans taken to purchase seven Boeing Co. 787 and 777 jetliners, the two people said, on condition of anonymity.

Pandemic e-tail push creates 3 lakh delivery, supply chain jobs
The pandemic-induced demand for e-commerce created 2.5-3 lakh temporary delivery and supply chain jobs in India during the recently concluded festive season sales, according to data from staffing firm TeamLease. For e-tailers, this hiring was 30-40% higher than last year.
