In case of delay in salary, pension for govt employees, interest should be paid: Supreme Court

A Bench headed by Justice DY Chandrachud observed that the government which has delayed the payment of salaries and pensions should be directed to pay interest at an appropriate rate. The Supreme Court on Thursday said salaries and pensions are “rightful entitlements” of government employees and in case of delay, they should be paid with interest.

‘Hunar Haat’ is making ‘Vocal for Local’ campaign a mass movement: Naqvi

Addressing media persons at the ‘Hunar Haat’ being held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium here, the Minority Affairs Minister said more than 12 lakh people have visited the ‘Hunar Haat’ which opened on February 20. The 10-day ‘Hunar Haat’ was inaugurated by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. More than 600 artisans and craftsmen from more than 31 states and UTs are participating in the ‘Hunar Haat’ in New Delhi.

IBM CEO Arvind Krishna reiterates intent to expand operations in India

Stressing that tech giant IBM has an incredible focus on India, its CEO Arvind Krishna on Tuesday reiterated that the company is on the path to expanding its operations and services in the country. As IBM spins out a new company, Krishna recently said that it will have a separate leadership team in India.

Pradhan bats for expansion of Indian Oil’s Haldia refinery

Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan on Thursday wrote a letter to Minister of Chemicals & Fertilizers DV Sadanand Gowda and Minister of State for Ports, Shipping & Waterways (Independent Charge) & Chemicals & Fertilizers Mansukh Mandaviya, seeking their intervention in leasing out 175 acres of land for undertaking expansion work at Indian Oil’s Haldia refinery.

MG’s all-women workforce produces 50,000th Hector SUV

MG Motor India on Thursday announced that it achieved a production milestone of 50,000 units of its popular Hector SUV from its Halol, Gujarat-based manufacturing plant. The production of the 50,000th unit of the Hector was carried over by an all-women force. For the record, the MG’s Halol plant has a leading 33% share of women in its workforce.
